ABCs
Love doing these types of things! It also kept me occupied for a bit being in bed all day!
A. Age: 25
B. Bed size: Queen. King is just too big for us and we feel too far apart! So, queen it is!
C. Chore that you hate: LAUNDRY...it just seems to never end!
D. Dogs: not until we get a house
E. Essential start to your day: Coffee, coffee, coffee. I am in a bad mood otherwise and have a headache the entire day (some would say I have an addiction, eh)
F. Favorite color: For some reason black and brown (so boring, I know) are my favorites right now. They are colors that are so easy to put together, they go with just about anything, and best of all, they hide the flaws that I hate so well! :)
G. Gold or silver: silver
H. Height: 5'6
I. Instrument you play: none at the moment; although I was quite good at playing the flute
J. Job title: full-time student
K. Kids: none
L. Live: In the DFW area
M. Mother's name: Julie
N. Nicknames: Jules, JuliaGulia
O. Overnight hospital stays: none, always outpatient stuff
P. Pet peeves: I absolutely hate when someone gets in the fast lane to drive the speed limit! It's for those wanting to pass or those driving above the speed limit. It makes me even more mad when they see multiple cars behind them going around them and, still, they stay in the fast lane! Come on, people!!!
Q. Quote from a movie: "This is it. Don't get scared now." Kevin from Home Alone ;)
R. Right or left handed: right
S. Siblings: my twin sister, Victoria (don't know how I would live without her!) Brothers-in-law - Carlos and Carlos
T. Truth or dare: I would say truth most of the time but a dare every once in a while is fun
U. Ultimate vacation: I'm dying to go to Greece! Also Gabe and I are dreaming of a Tahitian vacation and staying in a bungalow
V. Vegetable you hate: if onions is a veggie, then ONIONS!
W. What makes you run late: probably choosing something to wear. I can have my hair and makeup done, but can literally stand in front of my closet and debate what to wear. Then I start thinking that I need new clothes because I have nothing to wear, which just makes me irritated and then I just start trying on stuff to see what works better. It's a viscous cycle.
X: X-rays you've had: chest x-ray when I was in elementary school
Y. Yummy food that you make: I can bake like no ones business but I can also make some awesome entomatadas and chilaquiles.
Z. Zoo animal: bears

Score!
Our 4 year anniversary is at the end of the month and we had been shopping around for some new bedding. We totally scored black, white, and green bedding with a pattern we both loved! And all from HomeGoods! Happy anniversary to us! :)

Coming Soon!
I love to crochet and this summer has been filled with making all sorts of items; blankets, baby Mary Janes, baby dresses, baby sweaters, and different kinds of flowers. Everything, besides the flowers, takes up a lot of my time because the designs are more advanced, so I've decided to do those on a custom basis for family and friends. But the flower designs are so simple and so fast to make that I have been making them like crazy and have been making them into hair accessories, mainly for baby girls (but they can also be used as appliques on a cardigan or something).
I will be opening my very own Etsy store soon so I can start selling my hair accessories. Below are pictures of just some of the flowers I have made (picture quality will be much better in my actual store), with many more colors available soon. All of the flowers are attached to a 1 3/4" single prong alligator clip held by felt to be a little more comfortable for baby. They will also have an acrylic stone in the middle of each (except the marigold and two-toned flowers). I am still figuring out a name for my store and pricing so I hope to have my store up within the next couple of weeks.
I will be making these two-toned flowers with college colors, as well. The middle red/white is for OU and the orange/white is for UT (boo!). Once I can find some more accurate college color yarns, I will have more than just these two schools.
Very excited about this new little venture because I get to do something I love! :) If you are interested now in any of these, let me know!

We've Moved!!!
Yup! We are now Richardson, TX residents. This has been our 5th move in the span of our 3 1/2 year marriage. WOW!!! But, I will say, this move will be the best one yet. Not just because we have moved in with great friends, but because our lives will be better after our time here is over.
In 2009, Gabe and I took a class at our church called Financial Peace University, created by Dave Ramsey. It was the best decision we ever made. We learned so much about money in general, how Gabe and I each view money and how it's spent, and most important of all, how to tackle our debt and how to budget well and responsibly. We cut up all our credit cards and have learned to use only cash for most of the things we buy. After the cash is gone, that's it! No more spending and no more charging things frivolously. So, we are now what Dave Ramsey would call "gazelle intense!!"
During this time with our friends, Caleb and Lindy Jo, we will be attacking our credit card debt, car payments, and have big milestones for our savings!! We are so grateful to the Crutchfields for taking us in and having hearts of service. We hope to one day do this for others, when we get a house. It is such a blessing that they are bearing our burden and helping us in this process. It's been a fun time so far!
I highly recommend you take Financial Peace University, if you ever get the chance. It will change your life!

It's Been Awhile
I have been gone from blogging and from Dallas for awhile! Wow!
I just got back from Hobbs, NM. Let me tell you, the city of Hobbs is soooooo boring, but the time spent with family was wonderful! My sister lives out there and I got to spend 2 weeks and 2 days with them as we all prepared for the birth of my nephew Jacob. I got to spend time with my seester like old times as well as with my 5 year old nephew, Noah. I wanted to make sure he was loved on x10, since the birth of a new sibling can be hard sometimes and they usually get all the attention. We had so much fun! :)
I spent a whole week with them, sans baby. We all cooked like crazy and ate like crazy. Sister and I also got in some crocheting time together! Then on Friday, June 10th, my sister got induced. It was a long day/night in the hospital as we anxiously awaited Jacob's arrival. But just like his big brother, he was stubborn and waited until he was ready! Originally, my sister wanted her husband, my mom, and myself in the delivery room. But, for awhile it seemed like either me or my mom would have to be in the waiting room with Noah. But thankfully, my brother-in-law's mom made it just in time and to
ok Noah with her to her hotel to sleep. Right about the time the nurse was preparing my sister to start pushing, I started feeling sick! Earlier in the evening I started to get super cold and started shivering and my teeth started to chatter. I also got really nauseous and felt as though I would not be able to stay in the delivery room. It seems as though I got all the symptoms my sister didn't get with the epidural! So weird and strange! (This happened throughout her whole pregnancy, by the way. I got all the sick feelings and all her cravings)!! Luckily, I just needed a splash of water on my face and some movement around the room and I was good to go! At 5:06 am, June 11th, Jacob came into the world!!! It was the most amazing experience of my life!!! I was so honored to be one of my sister's coaches and to see her bring life into this world. I have had the privileged of living life with my twin sister, Victoria, and getting to walk along side her as she graduated, got married, moved away, etc. But this experience was just so amazing and the best one of all!!! I cried like a big baby!!! I got to spend a whole other week with her and smothered my little nephew to death. I fed him, burped him, rocked him to sleep, bathed him, and changed his poopy diaper as often as I could. I wanted to get as much time in with him as I could, since I knew I would not see him again until Christmas. :( When I left this past Sunday, I cried again like a baby. The hardest part about living here in Dallas is knowing that I don't have my family close by. It was so hard to leave them all and Gabe practically had to drag me out of Hobbs.
It was such a blessed time with my sister and her family and I can't wait till Victoria can experience baby years with Gabe and I (in about 5 years). :)

Summertime Sangria
I love summer because we get to spend our days with friends, have cookouts, and especially hang by the pool! I also love when I can sip on my favorite drink, Sangria. It's fruity and oh so refreshing. Here is how to make it:

- 3 cups Carlo Rossi Sangria
- 1 cup Ginger Ale (or more if you want it fizzier)
- 2 oz Triple Sec
- 2 oz Brandy
Combine the fruit, sangria, triple sec, and brandy. Let it sit in the fridge for 24 hours to let all the flavors marinate and mix well. Believe me, this step is crucial so you get that wonderful fruity taste. When you are ready to serve, add the ginger ale!
If you don't want to add the brandy or triple sec, it tastes fine without it too! I have done it like that before and it is still yummy. I just like the added flavor in mine! :)
ENJOY!!!
